What timing and distance equipment do we need?
You do not need expensive, permanently mounted rally computers. We highly recommend using a smartphone or tablet app for distance and timing tracking. Our team successfully uses and recommends the "Rally Trip Meter" app, which can be easily downloaded on your mobile device.
Do I need a special motorsport racing license?
No. Because our events are conducted as civil navigational trials on public roads obeying all traffic laws, a standard, current road driver’s license is all that is required for the driver.
Can my navigator use a standard maps app or GPS?
While competitive success relies entirely on your navigator reading our official roadbook instructions, we highly recommend keeping a smartphone GPS active in the background. It serves as an excellent safety backup if you lose your way, or if you need to "cut and run" directly to the next lunch break or the final evening finish.
What are the driving standards?
Safety and community respect are our absolute priorities. All events take place on open public roads where we share the tarmac with local residents and property owners. Drivers must remain constantly aware of surrounding farming communities and expect slow-moving agricultural equipment or livestock transport on the roads. Teams must strictly adhere to all posted speed limits and civil road rules at all times - dangerous driving will result in immediate disqualification.
